Hate to see it!
Our mission is to aid the low-income and homeless of Los Angeles through in-house, locally supported programs that provide fresh meals, clothing, work opportunities and ultimately the transition to full-time employment and a permanent place to live.

In 2018, a young man named Donnell Farrar was deeply concerned about the growing issue of homelessness in his community. Seeing the struggles of his fellow citizens, he knew he had to take action. Together with a group of like-minded friends, Donnell founded "Grab A Plate," a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the homeless. Their goal was simple: to provide comprehensive services that would help homeless individuals and families get back on their feet and regain independence.
They started small, setting up a small office and outreach center where homeless individuals could come for assistance. They provided basics such as food, clothing, and shelter referrals, but they didn't stop there. They worked tirelessly with local businesses and community partners to provide job training, healthcare, and other crucial services that would help the homeless get back on their feet.
As the organization gained momentum, they expanded their services and outreach efforts. They worked with local shelters and housing programs to provide case management and long-term support for those transitioning out of homelessness. They even launched a street outreach program, where volunteers would go out into the community to connect with homeless individuals and provide immediate assistance.
Their hard work paid off as the organization's impact quickly became recognized by the community. Local businesses and donors offered their support, allowing Grab A Plate to expand its programs and hire additional staff to better serve those in need.
Over the years, the organization continued to grow and evolve, becoming a vital part of the community. They not only provided essential services to those experiencing homelessness but also worked tirelessly to address the root causes of homelessness through advocacy and education.
Today, Grab A Plate's success is a result of the hard work and dedication of their staff, volunteers, and community partners, all working together to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Donnell's passion and commitment have inspired countless others to take action and join the fight against homelessness in their own communities.
Moral of the story: If you see a problem in your community, don't just sit around complaining about it - grab some friends, grab a plate, and get to work!
